Outside:
The Dethleffs A7871-2 is a very imposing motorhome which will draw attention on your travels. Exterior graphics are crisp, colourful yet not overdone. This example is in the standard white although other paint options are available at extra cost.
Taking the Luxus pack as on the vehicle shown improves the look of the exterior, providing flush fitting windows, plus on the practical side, the pack includes a roof rack and ladder. Access to services is good; a decent size gas locker halfway down the nearside, plus a separate locker access to the water dump valves. Hook-up and water intake points are at reasonable height. Rear steadies are also present.
External storage is copious, with a huge garage space under the rear bed, plus a forward underfloor locker with through access from either side. Both these areas are heated. The electric step is of the new Omnistor design, having blue LED’s in the forward edge for use in the dark.

Inside:
With over 8 metres of body length, space is never going to be an issue here. The dinette area can seat 6 people for a meal easily and the seating can be extended further to make room for 8 if required. As standard, there are 6 berths available, with 6 seatbelts too.
Both front and rear double beds are generous in size, although lighting for the front lift up luton bed is a little short, having only one 12v light each side. The kitchen has been very well thought out to Dethleffs ‘Gourmet’ design, with a multi-function hob/sink area with two drains plus some worktop space, an oven with grill, extractor and plenty of lighting. A automatic energy search fridge/freezer is standard. There is also some slide-out storage complete with waste bins.
The washroom incorporates a separate shower cubicle and an ingenious space saving vanity sink which slides across to allow more room around the Thetford toilet. The washroom door has towel rails attached and there are mirror cabinets for toiletries storage. If you’ve filled all the top lockers and the garage, you still have the mid-ships underfloor storage areas which are accessed by lifting the trapdoors under the carpet! Two of these access hatches allow for tank cleaning.
For TV watchers there is a slide-out bracket for a flatscreen TV which can be swivelled either way for front or rear viewing. The position is a little high and a long way back for rear bedroom viewers. No TV aerial is fitted as standard, however 230v and 12v sockets are plentiful, all well positioned except for two 12v mounted under the TV slideout, within a clothes hanging space.
