Inside:
The Coral Compact shown here has the ‘Package 3’ option, which includes an ingenious entrance door/flyscreen assembly, a panoramic opening window over the dinette, an engine heat exchanger to keep the living area warm in transit, comfortable Aguti front seats and cab blinds. The package is so extensive that it is difficult to imagine anyone ordering a Coral Compact without it, which may well be what Adria are intending. Add leather upholstery and we have a fairly exclusive-looking interior.
At the rear of the Adria, under the transverse mattress, you will not be able to access the garage underneath, however a cleverly designed hidden storage compartment is available under a flap, plus another more visible one near the access steps. There is what looks to be a substantial vertical handrail to assist access to the caravan bed, which doubles up as the support for the extending TV arm and bracket. This double-jointed arm has such a range of movement that you can watch TV in bed, or swing the whole assembly forward to watch from the dinette.
This motorcaravan kitchen is tight by necessity, having just a three burner hob and a round sink. The absence of an oven means a useful sized store is available underneath but working space is at a premium here. Good to see a Seitz rooflight above this area, which opens to a wide angle.
Taking a shower in the Adria Coral Compact is possible, thanks to a circular enclosure within the combined washroom with a solid screen.
The forward dinette is a pleasing area, although can feel a little tighter than similar designs thanks to the mini-wardrobe on the driver’s side. The optional half leather upholstery looked well finished and has good quality tie-back clips to hold cushions in place in transit. The table also has an extension if required and the top lockers above are tastefully designed and deep.
Summary:
The Compact motorhome class is already very competitive, with a raft of new models introduced by both British and European manufacturers since 2007. The Adria Coral Compact is not the prettiest in class, but does have some very well thought out design features and storage.
There are of course, trade-offs and compromises, such as the small kitchen and the garage is not the largest. With any motorhome of this size, only you will know if your ‘comfortable space’ can be satisfied, bearing in mind this one still offers decent internal and external storage, fixed double bed and a useable shower.
